Robert ‘BJ’ Jamison of Peekskill
Robert ‘BJ’ Jamison, a lifelong Peekskill resident, died Aug. 6. He was 83.
He was born March 14, 1925 in Peekskill to William A. and Mary (Mackey) Jamison. He worked at Standard Brands for 25 years and then worked in the maintenance department in the Peekskill School District for over 10 years.
He is survived by his brother, Charles, several nieces and nephews, dear friend and companion, Marge Sullivan and granddaughter Kacie Sullivan. He was predeceased by his wife, Antoinette (D’Alessandro) Jamison and sister-in-law, Viola D’Alessandro.
Funeral services and arrangements were handled by E.O. Curry Funeral Home, Peekskill, followed by interment at Assumption Cemetery.
Robert ‘Rob’ Manning of Peekskill-Cortlandt
Robert “Rob” Manning, a Peekskill-Cortlandt resident, died Aug. 5. He was 33.
He was born Dec. 7, 1974 in White Plains, to Robert and Patricia (Kellogg) Manning, graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School and studied MicroSoft and Cisco Technology and became a senior technology engineer. He worked for Norcom Solutions for the last two years.
He grew up in the Peekskill-Cortlandt area and lived in South Carolina and California for several years. He loved the ocean, fishing and music, and was an excellent, self-taught guitarist. Rob loved his family and friends with much devotion and loyalty. He brought much laughter and joy to all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents Robert J. and Susan Manning, David and Patricia Geis, half brothers Sean and Michael Manning; step brother Andrew Geis, step sister Judith Geis and loving companion Kirsten Tosh.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered at the Church of the Assumption. Funeral arrangements were handled by E. O. Curry Funeral Home of Peekskill. Donations to the Buddhism Temple/Chuang Yen Monastery; 2020 Route 301, Carmel, NY, 10512, will be appreciated.
Catherine V. “Kitty” Reilly of Ossining
Catherine Veronica “Kitty” Reilly died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Aug. 9. She was 87.
She was born Feb. 1, 1921 to Tommy and Mary Catherine Reilly in Carrickmacross, County Monaghan, Ireland. She graduated from St. Lois Covent School and worked locally as a bookkeeper until moving to Philadelphia in 1948. In 1950, she married Joseph Reilly and moved to Ossining. She worked for the Ossining School District and afterwards at Varsity Studios Ossining until she retired. She also worked part-time for the Board of Elections at Brookside School as an inspector. She was a very active parishioner of St. Augustine’s Church, where she was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Golden Eagles and worked behind the scenes at many parish functions. She provided rides for many friends and parishioners to daily Mass and would go out of her way to help anyone. She lived a life of kindness, service, and forgiveness to all. Along with her love of dancing (both step and ballroom), she was a leader in the Carrickmacross Girl Guides (Girl Scouts) in the 1940’s and served as a Troop Leader with the Ossining Girl Scouts and Brownies during the 60’s.
Her husband Joe predeceased her in 1977 but she leaves behind her four children: Jack (Anne) Reilly, Kathy (Pat) Geaney , Margaret (Joe) D’Agostino and Mary (Patrick) Duffy and 10 grandchildren: Sean, Brendan (Nini), Tara Anne, Deidre, Brenda, Patrick, Leanna, Katie, Shane, and Claire, several cousins, including lifelong cousin and friend Eileen Clarke, and Marion Moore and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours were held Sunday, Aug. 10 at the Dorsey Funeral Home, Ossining, NY 10562. A funeral Mass was held at St. Augustine’s Church, and internment St. Augustine’s Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were handled by Dorsey Funeral Home, Ossining.
Annie Magdelina Buckley of Yorktown
Annie Magdelina Buckley nee Holzschuh of Yorktown died of congestive heart failure on Aug. 9. She was 93.
She was born July 15, 1915 to Nikolaus and Waly Hausberger Holzshuh in White Plains. She was educated in White Plains schools, and graduated from White Plains High School in 1934. On Aug. 21, 1935 she married John P. Buckley, who died on Feb. 2, 1989. A long time resident of Westchester, she spent her early married years in Purchase and West Harrison before first moving to Yorktown in 1955, where she was a resident for over 35 years.
A talented seamstress, she made custom lampshades for Fred Glauber in White Plains. She also worked for the 5 and 10 and the Homelight Corp. Along with her husband, she co-managed Parsells Garden Mart in Westport, CT and held a variety of housekeeping positions in homes in Scarsdale, Hartsdale, Yorktown, and Somers before her retirement.
She is survived by her three children: son Daniel (Angela) Buckley, daughters Ellen (John) Van Tassell and Maureen (Steve), as well as six grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss “Nana-Gugga” and “Ti-Ti.”
Donations should be made to the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps., at 2600 Loretta St, Yorktown Heights or Mohegan Volunteer Ambulance Corps at 1975 East Main St. Mohegan Lake.
Funeral arrangements were handled by Clark Funeral Home, Yorktown Heights.
