The American Travelling Morrice dance group has chosen our area for their annual dancing tour for the first time in their 33 years of touring. The Travelling Morrice consists of Morris men from all over the country, including more than a few dancers of international fame in the field. This performance is free. Sculptures by Philip Grausman

Now on display in the sculpture garden and on the South Lawn. The fiberglass sculptures are “portraits” stripped to their essence. Grausman concentrates on volume and form, eliminating inconsequential details while retaining a sense of individual character. Towering 10 feet tall, the sculptures are simultaneously classic and surreal. The works are startling in their pure white immensity and are made mysterious by the stoic expressions of the women’s faces. Children ages 4-15 can get a free taste of acting this fall at the Putnam Children’s Discovery Center. The Actors’ Workshop (ages 6-15) will be offered three consecutive Saturdays, Sept 20, 27, and Oct. 4 from noon-1 p.m. at the Croton Falls Community Church on Route 22 (near the Croton Falls train station). “Stories Alive” (ages 4-6) will be offered various days and times beginning in September at the Putnam Children’s Discovery Center on Route 6 in Mahopac. Basketmakers Guild Exhibit & Sale
