Amelia P. Boll,
Ossining resident
Amelia P. Boll, a resident of Ossining and formerly of Altamonte
Springs, Florida, and Hicksville, Long Island, died Friday, August 11,
2006.
She was 86.
Boll was born in Westbury, New York, on January 9, 1920. She enjoyed
crafts and knitting Christmas ornaments andby blankets.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Boll; her grandchildren, Jesse
and Alexandra Ingber; and her sisters, Eleanor Metz and Gladys Loomis.
She was predeceased by her husband, Milton.
Memorial Services will be held Monday, August 21, 2006, at 11:30 am
at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining.
Ryan James Hickey, Ossining resident
Ryan James Hickey, a former resident of Ossining and a resident of Pawling,
New York, died unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on Monday, August
21, 2006.
Ryan was the loving husband to Staci (Sherr) Hickey; loving father to
his daughters, Gabriella, age 4, and Jaime, age 2; devoted son to Jean
(Scott) See and the late James Hickey. He is also survived by his uncles,
Mathias (Joeanne) Hickey and Toby DeMicco, and several cousins.
Ryan was a man of simple and plain living. He was a devoted friend who
could always be relied on. He was married for six years, every day of
which was an adventure. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday at Dorsey Funeral Home in Ossining
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., with the Funeral Mass on Friday at 11:30
a.m. at St. Augustine Church, Route 9, Ossining. The internment will
follow at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Ryan James Hickey
to the Make-a-Wish Foundation, 828 South Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
Anthony L. Lupetin, Ossining resident
Anthony L. Lupetin of Ossining died August 17, 2006, at home.
He was 80.
He was born in Ossining on October 30, 1925, to Joseph and Rose (Sellazzo)
Lupetin. He served in the Navy during WWII and Korea, and worked for
General Motors in Tarrytown in the Inspection Department. He was a communicant
of St. Ann's Church.
Lupetin is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; sons Dr. Anthony (Melissa)
of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and Jeffrey (Betsy) of Evanston, Illinois;
brother John of Ossining; sister Anna Ehlert of New Jersey; grandchildren
Brendan, Jocelyn, Bridgit, Casey, Zachary and Lila, and several nieces
and nephews.
He was reposed at Leach & Thomas, Inc. Funeral Home in Ossining.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held August 21 at St. Ann's Church, with
burial at St. Augustine's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to
Phelps Hospice or OVAC are appreciated.
Frederick J. Metz, Croton resident
Frederick J. Metz, a former longtime Croton resident who moved to Peekskill,
died Friday, August 18, at Hudson Valley Hospital.
He was 70.
Mr. Metz was a retired lather in construction. He was also a laborer
at Indian Point for several years, and did some painting. He was born
in North Tarrytown on January 14, 1936, to Frederick and Veronica Mullen
Metz.
Mr. Metz was a graduate of Croton-Harmon High School, and also the American
Academy of Dramatic Arts. He served his country honorably in the U.S.
Army in the post-Korean era.
He is survived by a son, Frederick, of Cherokee, California; two daughters,
Victoria of Los Angeles and Dawn (Edward) Gauthier of Croton; five brothers,
Lucio, Donnie, and Frankie LaForgia, Kenny Powers and Edward Pulz; and
four sisters, Barbara Connolley, Jane Spannknabel, Donna Dilio and Barbara
Mongero. He also leaves eight grandchildren and many friends.
His Funeral Mass was Monday at Holy Name of Mary Church. Burial was
in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Frank V. Shea, Peekskill resident
Frank V. Shea, a lifelong Peekskill resident, died Saturday, August
19, 2006.
He was 97 years old.
Mr. Shea was born June 13, 1909, to Mary Valente and Francis Shea. He
attended local schools. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II as
a combat infantry man, receiving five bronze stars in the European Middle
Eastern campaigns. He was employed at Standard Brands for many years
as a copper smith and was a member of the Quarter Century Club.
He was a communicant at the Assumption Church, Peekskill. Mr. Shea enjoyed
walking both locally and long distances, including to and from West
Point. He participated in local team baseball and was an avid Yankee
fan as well as an Army football fan.
He is survived by his brother, Joseph T. Shea of Peekskill; two sisters,
Marion Lancaster of Verplank and Margaret Curran of Buchanan; a niece,
Judith Carbone; a nephew ,Robert Carbone; a great nephew, Rob Carbone
and great nieces Kristen Carbone and Deborah Agresti.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Assumption Church, Peekskill.
Interment followed at the Assumption Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor
